Wow! Here’s some black history for you . . .

Sister Rosetta Tharpe was an American singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist. A pioneer of twentieth-century music, Tharpe attained popularity in the 1930s and 1940s with her gospel recordings … 

Did you know it was a Black woman who created “rock-n-roll” ? Yes .  A Sista . . . and her name was Rosetta Tharpe .  She came way before lil Richard, Muddy Waters, Elvis and the rest . . . In fact, they all credit her as their influence (except for Elvis).  This is something I just learned of today! I had never heard this in my many years coming up. Something that was buried or just plainly not celebrated at all.   Check her out in the video below rocking out for a crowd at a train station.
