My team (@Chicagobulls) just getting worst by the days. Come tomorrow this could come true. Looks like we won’t be contending for years to come. | #seeRed #chicagoBulls

NBA free agency doesn’t officially open until Friday but the New York Knicks may have already made a big splash.

According to a report from Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post, multiple sources have stated that former Chicago Bulls center Joakim Noah will “almost certainly” be joining the Knicks once free agency opens on a deal that will start “somewhere in the $18 million” range.

Noah, a New York City native, missed the bulk of the 2015-16 campaign after suffering a season-ending shoulder injury but it appears as though Phil Jackson and company believe that the 31-year-old center still has more than enough left in the tank to help the Knicks move closer to returning to the playoffs.

The former Florida Gators standout has, reportedly, set up a meeting with Jackson and other members of New York’s front office shortly after midnight on Friday as free agency officially opens at 12:00 a.m. ET.

This past season, Noah averaged 4.3 points, 8.8 rebounds and 3.8 assists in 21.9 minutes per game for Chicago.
